LWVNM Immigration Study, 2006-2007

At its May 2005 convention, League of Women Voters of New Mexico accepted a proposal for a one-year state study of the policies of New Mexico regarding documented and undocumented immigrants. However, the study was superceded by the LWVUS immigration study. (link no longer goes to Immigration)

The 2006-2007 study was kicked off by Tim Manning, the lunch speaker at the Council meeting on May 13. Manning, who is the director of the New Mexico Office of Homeland security (dead link), spoke about the coordination of that office with the federal immigration office and other federal agencies.
