Making Democracy Work Awards Policy

LWVNM’s Making Democracy Work program provides opportunities for the League to acknowledge individuals who have made significant contributions in League priority areas. The general recognition categories are as follows, though others may be added as needed.
1) Voting Rights and Voter Outreach
2) Civic Education and Engagement
3) Governmental Improvement and Public Trust
Proposed Titles: Activist, Advocate, Catalyst, Partner, Visionary
The LWVNM Board may develop specific criteria for award categories and procedures for the MDW program and will maintain records of all recognitions awarded and related publicity. Awards may be determined and presented to the designated individuals as appropriate throughout the year.
